2 Way 8″ Loudspeaker for Portable PA and Installation Applications.

The TURBOSOUND DUBLIN TCX82 is a compact passive 800 Watt two way loudspeaker consisting of a high excursion 8″ reflex-loaded low frequency driver with low mass voice coil for improved transient response, and a 1″ high temperature dome compression driver with extended high frequency reproduction on a 90° horizontal by 60° vertical Converging Elliptical Waveguide in a trapezoidal enclosure.

When permanently installed the cabinet presents a discreet appearance with no visible side handles to enable visually unobtrusive loudspeaker arrays, while for portable applications the pole mount blanking plug can be removed for use with speaker stands and poles, and a single carrying handle is provided for transportation. The TCX82 features a Converging Elliptical Waveguide, generating a smooth wavefront while giving excellent pattern control. The waveguide is rotatable through 90°, allowing a swap of the horizontal and vertical dispersion patterns. This feature is especially useful to retain the wide horizontal dispersion when mounting the cabinet horizontally in venues where ceiling height is limited.

The cabinet includes internal M10, M8 and M6 threaded rigging points for use with TURBOSOUND wall and ceiling brackets, and OmniMount* loudspeaker brackets. Constructed from 5/8″ (15 mm) birch plywood, the cabinet is finished in hard wearing semi matt black or optional white textured paint. A perforated steel mesh grille backed with reticulated foam protects the drive units from damage. The rear connector panel provides two Neutrik speakON* NL4 connectors for input and link functions, wired in parallel with a 4-way barrier strip connector.

A weather resistant version is available rated to IP54 comprising moisture treated woodwork, weatherised components, plated and outdoor powder coated grille with reticulated foam backing, stainless steel fixings, and a captive cable tail secured through a sealed cable gland on an aluminium panel. Additionally, external handles and the pole mount socket are omitted in order to provide a sealed enclosure and prevent the ingress of water or moisture.
